Assistant Sales Manager – West Central Florida

Area: Tampa – Sarasota - Orlando

Ideally based in the Tampa Area

Location and schedule: fully on the road with Monday mandatory in Lakeland FL

Reports to: Executive Sales Manager FL

Our Client is an importer and distributor of authentic Italy food: they serve the finest restaurants, country clubs, hotels, caterers, culinary schools, specialty food stores and markets in 34 states around the country.

This is a very exciting time in this company; they are looking for a passionate and driven sales professional that can assist in maintaining and expanding the market on the assigned territory.

Position Overview

They are seeking a motivated and results-driven Assistant Sales Manager to support their Direct Sales Distribution operations in the West Central Florida territory. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong organizational and leadership skills, and enjoys building relationships with clients and distribution partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Support sales representatives in achieving territory goals and maintaining strong customer relationships.
• Assist in overseeing day-to-day direct sales operations and logistics within the assigned territory.
• Coordinate with warehouse and delivery teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
• Analyze sales data and performance metrics to identify growth opportunities.
• Help develop and implement regional sales strategies aligned with company objectives.
• Train and mentor field sales staff to ensure consistent service quality and product knowledge.
• Represent the company at trade shows, client events, and product presentations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
• Based in Tampa (preferred)
• Previous sales experience in food distribution.
• Strong communication and leadership skills with a collaborative mindset.
• Knowledge of specialty foods or food service distribution.
• Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of Italian and Italian food culture is considered a plus
• Willingness to work every day on the road (except Monday, in Lakeland) , supporting sales representatives and visiting customers
• Willingness to travel intensively within the territory, as required.
